On June 7, 2004, the United States Supreme Court upheld the City of Littleton, Colorado's licensing procedure for adult businesses. The court examined the city's procedure to determine whether it met the First Amendment's requirement that the licensing scheme assure a prompt judicial review of an administrative decision denying a license. The court concluded that, considered on its face, the ordinance is consistent with the First Amendment's demands.
